Male Yeast Infections  May Not Be As Uncommon As You Think

Many men are astounded when they end up being diagnosed with male yeast infections. Most often it is out of concern that they will seek out some medical help because of the symptoms and not being able to equate it to male yeast infections as quickly as perhaps a woman would that is suffering with a yeast infection.

Quite often a man will wonder where he has contracted male yeast infections, and it is possible that when having unprotected sex that if the female had a yeast infection that it can be transmitted. It must be kept in mind though that this is not a common occurrence. Men have also been subjected to yeast infections from prolonged antibiotic treatments and those with diabetes have been known to contract male yeast infections as well. Men that have impaired immune systems, or if they are suffering from HIV, for example, are also more prone to male yeast  infections.

The symptoms of  the male yeast infections are a little similar to what the women will get. There quite often may be a red rash and at the tip of the penis there will be itching and/ or burning . The  treatments for male yeast infections can be completed with many of the over-the-counter treatments that are in the form of a cream. The anti fungal treatments will work just as well on the men as they do on the women.

More than likely if you have sought out medical help your Physician is going to have given you something for this. He may have even recommended that you get something over-the-counter. The problem is with sexually-transmitted male yeast infections is that they can be transmitted  back and forth between partners. .What happens is if one of the individuals doesn't get the problem corrected it then  just gets transferred back to the other partner.

Doctors have now got to the point where when they prescribe a prescription for male yeast infections to one party they will recommend that the other party use it as well. One of the problems that the male could run into with male yeast infections is that the skin will become dry and cracked. Not only is this extremely painful, but it can get to the point where an infection could set in.

Aside from being sexually-transmitted there are many other ways that men can get male yeast infections. It has been noted that male yeast infections are more common in males that are on antibiotics as we mentioned but also those that consume alcohol and beer.

There are many foods that can cause it such as wheat products, corn products, peanuts and barley. When the immune system becomes weakened this is the proper conditions for the Candida to overgrow and create the yeast  infections.  This in time can kill the good bacteria .The reason that these particular foods that we mentioned can be a problem is because there may  have been various molds on them. We have become commonplace to this and in many cases these are not really an issue. In individuals that are susceptible like men that have suffered from male yeast infections  perhaps staying away from these foods would be a wise choice.
